Rush was born and raised in Opelika Alabama. He is a graduate of The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Auburn University with a BA degree. Rush began his real estate career in 1998 with E.B. Odom Realty in Opelika. Rush moved to Birmingham Alabama in 2006 and became a partner in a new real estate firm, eventually growing the firm to 28 realtors. After selling the firm, Rush and his family eventually moved back home to Opelika in 2015 opening The Denson Group.

Rush is married to Tiffany Quinn Denson and they have three children, Rush Jr., Quinn and Sadie.
